Meditation for pregnant women in Béziers

The benefits of meditation for pregnant women

In concrete terms, what are the benefits of meditation for expectant mothers, and what can it do for you during pregnancy?

You will be pleasantly surprised by the many benefits of this activity:

- You'll be connecting with your baby, transmitting positive emotions. You know very well that your child feels everything that happens during your pregnancy.

During meditation, you'll be attentive to your sensations, to your baby's movements in your belly, which will help you create the first bonds with your child.

- As a result, you're less stressed (and so is your child), your days are more positive, you're fitter, and you're less prone or not at all to mood swings (generated by hormones) and temporary anxiety.

- You'll be able to better manage your lifestyle and enjoy yourself at the same time.

- You're better able to tolerate pain (pain is a lure). By meditating, your body releases endorphins, the well-being hormone, which reduces the sensation of pain. You'll be better able to manage childbirth.
- The risk of post-partum depression is reduced.

- Health improves, immune defenses are strengthened.

- Finally, meditation can facilitate and improve sleep quality, which is essential for both mother and child.

All these benefits benefit your child, helping him or her to thrive in the zenitude accentuated by amniotic fluid.

"Happiness is inside us, not outside. It depends not on what we have, but on what we are." Henry Van Dyke

What is meditation during pregnancy?

I suggest two types of meditation:

- The first is Tangram (sitting) meditation , the meditation of the origins (I explain its meaning and benefits in the insert below).

- The second is Kinhin meditation (standing with small steps). By singing the rhythm of your steps to that of your breath, you achieve one of the strongest unions of body and mind. See insert below

Tangram meditation (sitting) and Kinhin meditation (walking) have no contraindications: they are suitable for all expectant mothers!
You can practice them from the beginning to the end of your pregnancy. You don't need to be a beginner. You can start whenever you like, and why not with the father-to-be!

To reap the benefits, I advise you to meditate regularly. Each meditation is different, depending on your emotions and the time you devote to it.

Do not force yourself to do anything! No compulsion! Don't feel guilty if one day your meditation is short or if you haven't meditated at all.

Meditation is a moment for yourself and your baby. Have fun first!

Choose a quiet place or not. The position in which you practice Tangram meditation (sitting) is up to you.

- Sitting on a chair, with feet on the floor or on a Swiss Ball (legs hip-width apart),

- Sitting cross-legged on the floor,

- Lying down if you prefer (if you are bedridden for medical reasons).

The most important thing is to meditate with your baby. You can meditate anywhere. Whether you're cooking, concentrating on your cooking, looking at the sea or enjoying a picnic in nature.

Mother Nature is an ideal place for meditation.

Kinhin (standing) meditation is performed while walking slowly. We begin with Tangram meditation (sitting), followed by Kinhin meditation (standing) and finish with Tangram meditation (sitting).

We practice both in one session. In this way, you can enjoy Kinhin meditation, which lets you move your body while staying in meditation. Both meditations provide the required benefits.

"Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your consciousness rest there. Let Nature teach you to be calm.

Eckhart Tollé

Tangram meditation and Kinhin meditation

Tangram Meditation is in a class of its own!

It's aimless. And yet it is the practice that leads to the most profound changes.

With Tangram Meditation, you'll reach your goals when you stop striving for anything.

One of the principles of this meditation is to expect nothing. Nothing is set in stone.

This is simply due to a key concept in Tangram Meditation:

- By learning to detach yourself from your ego's desires and beliefs, you open yourself up to all possibilities,

- you'll learn how to truly let go. Manage your emotions better to live a more balanced life,

- step by step, you will gain perspective on your mental constructs (upbringing, environment, life context)

- In this way, you'll make room for your real and deepest aspirations, in tune with your true nature,

- And in doing so, you'll reveal the part of yourself that lies behind the demands of your ego,

- You'll move forward in your life with much greater clarity and openness.

- You live more intensely, you're no longer afraid to act,

- You open up to the world and those around you.

The practice of Tangram Meditation can be summed up as follows:

- When you stop looking, you'll find. That's the key to your true freedom!

"Being aware of your breathing and knowing how to touch the life within you is a great joy" Trichet Nhat Hanh

Kinhin Meditation

Zazen walking meditation.

It's possible to meditate while walking, as suggested by kinhin, the slow walk of Zen practice.
By matching the rhythm of your steps to that of your breathing, you achieve one of the most powerful unions of body and mind.

- Little known, it's nevertheless a solution much appreciated by practitioners who find a way to achieve the difficult harmony between body and mind.

- You move at the same pace as you breathe .
- Your posture is very important, and should be corrected when you feel that your small steps are not aligned.

- Practice aimlessly,

- Don't set yourself a goal, as you'll miss out on all that Kinhin has to offer.
