Contrology (the original name given by Joseph Pilates to his method) aims at "the complete coordination of body, mind and emotions. Through this method you can voluntarily acquire perfect control of your body.

Sporty at heart, I realized my dream......to become a Pilates coach, a profession which is above all a passion that I wish to share. I have always practiced physical activities such as tennis, squash, fitness (Body combat, Body sculpt, stretching, Abdo glutes, Trx....), sailing, volleyball, rafting, hiking, snowshoes. Sport is an integral part of my personality.

I have followed the required trainings: Pilates Matwork (on the floor with small equipment) - Pilates on Reformer - Pilates on Chair - Pilates for pregnant women (Prenatal and Postnatal) - Pilates for seniors.

I offer Private, Duo and Trio classes at my home or at your home . A Pilates à la Carte. I also offer group classes in small groups (6 to 8 people) in order to meet the needs of the participants in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

My expert eye will correct you in order to execute the movement perfectly and thus allow you to progress rapidly. Observation is essential in this method. To observe and correct all the movements of each person is a profession, that of Coach !  

Definition 

Pilates is a deep muscle strengthening method that is an obvious partner for wellness. Working on the lengthening of the muscles improves the strength, flexibility and balance of the body. Benefits to posture The benefits are undeniable. Pilates brings the body back into ideal alignment, creating a strong stability that limits pain and injury.

This method is based on 6 principles : centring-concentration-breathing-precision-control of movement-fluidity.

The result is a strong body with a solid core, strengthened deep abdominals (firm belly),a strengthened pelvic floor and back muscles . The classes allow you to refocus on yourself, to rediscover your body in order to better understand and control it.

Pilates is for everyone, from fitness and physical preparation to rehabilitation and well-being.

Different levels are proposed, from basic to advanced, with a wide range of exercises performed with or without equipment (ball, circle, foam roller, elastic, small weighted balls...)

Joseph Pilates: a brief history....

Joseph Pilates created his method during the First World War when he was a prisoner of war. He developed a rehabilitation technique, based on springs, to help bedridden patients. His work on hospital beds led to the creation of the "Cadillac" Pilates machine. Thanks to his training, wounded prisoners survived the influenza epidemic that killed 200,000 people in England during the First World War.

In 1925, Joseph Pilates moved to the United States where he opened his first Pilates studio for the training and rehabilitation of athletes and especially professional dancers. It was from there that he developed a sequence of movements aimed at strengthening the deep chains of the body and improving the knowledge and control of the body. Later, he created different machines specific to his technique such as the Wunda Chair, the Reformer and the Barrel.

Convinced of the benefits of the Pilates method, I practice it every day and I know how much it brings me a well-being that I have never felt in other physical activities such as fitness, tennis, squash, volleyball...sports that I have practiced for 38 years.
