What does the Pilates method teach us?

The fundamental principles of Pilates teach us to connect our core (the abdomen) and use the PowerHouse (the engagement of the body's centre also known as the Core) to stabilize the back and pelvis as we gently perform the movements, an action known as :

- Stability,

- Mobility.

All movements start from here: the centre of the body. Engaging the deep muscles of the trunk helps to control and stabilise our movements.

It includesthe pelvic floor in the lower abdomen, the transverse abdominis (the deepest abdominal muscle) and the back muscles in the rear.

A strong core promotesbetter muscle coordination. We control what we do. We are "ACTORS"! We take ownership of our own Pilates! We are not subjected to a class!

The principles list the essential components of the most complex exercises and are subdivided into several parts, correcting movements that are poorly executed due to injury, poor posture or the stresses and strains of daily life .

The Fundamentals is a very appropriate tool to start practicing Pilates.

In this way, we will recover more quickly from an injury and learn to centre ourselves from the beginning of the course.
